Need a little extra cash? Declutter your home of all those things you never use or don’t need anymore! If you haven’t used it, touched it or thought about it in the last 12 months, get rid of it! There is so many ways to sell your unwanted goods these days, garage sales, gumtree, ebay or even car boot sales. It’s so easy to do, just work out what’s best for you and your items!

  • It’s really quite amazing how one persons trash really CAN be another ones treasure!

  • I’m ruthless (well hubby says so) but I go through the house twice a year to get rid of things that we haven’t worn etc. gumtree is great and if you can’t sell it then donate to vines or the salvos.

  • I recently had a cheap garage sale so didn’t make much, and sent the leftovers to charity.

  • I’ve been doing this at the moment! I usually have a declutter twice a year and donate the items or give them away to family. This time I’ve decluttered SO much I never normally do. Things we’ve just kept but never really use or even look at. I have been filling a massive box to have a garage sale soon. Am looking forward to it for some extra cash!

  • Totally agree it is a great way to clean out and get some cash. Although in staying that sometimes things that you think will sell well you just can’t get rid of!!

    • Good point! I helped someone with a garage sale and was astounded by the things that did not sell and I was even more astounded by people baulking at the prices as some items were only $1.00. The items were in excellent condition. We organised for some of the items to go to a charity and hopefully they found new and much needed homes.

  • Absolutely! I’ve got so many beautiful toys from when my daughter was younger. Little People sets, Thomas the Tank train set… Maybe I persuade my daughter to sell them and use the money to buy something new, more appropriate to her age!

  • I now de-clutter and clean out the house twice a year and donate the unwanted goods to charity. The house feels clean and tidy and someone else gets to use items that we no longer use or need. I am always happy to think that someone else will get use out of them and benefit from them.
