Hello!

I am sure I have written about this before, but maybe it needs to be said again.

I avoid driving around school times if at all possible, but the other day I had to.

What on Earth are these mothers thinking?????

Carrying the most precious cargo – their children.

I watched them speeding, talking on phones, double parking, leaving babes in the car whilst “running into the shops”.

I watched them go through red lights. I watched as four in a row went through a level crossing before the lights had gone out. (In Vic this is the same as running a red light)

I watched as they cut of each other instead of mergeing. I watched one particular women wind down her window and scream abuse at the lollypop lady becuase she did not want to stop.

Seriously, this has got to stop!

You know in your own heart if you are guilty of this kind of behaviour. Just stop and think – how would you explain to another mother that your driving attitude is more important than their child’d life? How would you feel if your inattention to the road whilst talking on your phone (or worse – texting) cost your child his or her life?

If you know someone who drives like this -tell them to stop.

If we all become proactive and make bad driving a massive social no no, maybe some little lives can be saved.

  • Maybe there needs to be a blitz on this sort of behaviour at schools?

  • Yeah I know what you mean. I’ve seen so many on the phone driving after they’ve just picked up the kids. Surely the call can wait. If not- at least pull over!!
