First Car - Real Mum story on MoM

Last weekend we hit a new milestone in our family – buying our eldest her first car! Excitement for all mixed with disbelief and a new worry for me. She hasn’t quite got her licence yet, but its only weeks away. Apart from the worry of having a P-Plater on the road, I think I’ll miss the dropping off and picking up as some of our best chats happen in the car.

She has just finished school with the end of her VCE exams and now the licence looming and the independence of her own car. Where has the time gone and how did my baby grow up so fast?

Try not to let her get over- confident as that is when some become complacent and think they are invincible, that they can do no wrong, nothing can go wrong etc.

Thanks, thats lovely for you and your mum. Our lives are full of different stages and we just have to enjoy the stage we’re in while we’re in it.

I missed my mums and my chats in the car too but now with two children of my own and now having more time mum and I have drives again this time though I am the one at the wheel and I must say its so nice having that time to talk to mum again
