To help save money, we have been having a couple of vegetarian meals each week. My husband was against it at first but he has since come around and half the time he doesn’t even realise we are having a vegetarian meal! Compared to the price of meat, lentils, chick peas, split peas, kidney beans, etc, are all delicious options at a much cheaper price!

  • I grew up in a meat and three veg household where my dad would often become grumpy if meat was not served lol How times have changed- thankfully! Living in the city the cost of meat has jumped up considerably and although we shop around or hit the farmers markets there are still times where it’s not financially possible to have meat incorporated into one meal or another. Although I know its easier to get our daily iron from meat I can say we enjoy switching it out for a larger quantity of vegetables especially for the night meals, still just as tasty and less of a heavy feeling in the stomach.
