Help ! My husband has recently started snoring terribly whenever he is laying on his back (He has been working longer hours, and just came off 12 days straight without a break to try get a little extra $$ in before baby arrives, as we unexpectedly had to pay out $6000 for car repairs when the motor started playing up 2 weeks ago) – He’s always had this habit and I’m not sure whether it’s the pregnancy for me, and the fact I’m already struggling to sleep, but I find it sooooo much harder to fall asleep. While I am still currently working full time – 32 weeks today :) – I am still having 5.30am wake ups, so lying awake until sometimes midnight is draining me!
We don’t have a spare bed I can go and jump into, & I wake up far too sore if I attempt to sleep on the lounge..
Any other tips I can try other then continually waking him to ask him to roll over to his side? I feel guilty constantly breaking his sleep..

  • Get him to sometimes sleep on the couch…..My hubby snores and grinds his teeth in his sleep. If he woke me through the night with this, I’ld just jump into the spare bed. Now he’s taken to sleeping in the spare bed full time :(

  • I snore in my house, I now sleep in another room as I don’t want to wake my hubby up.

  • I’m the snorer in our house so I often wake to an empty bed as hubby has gone to the spare room.

  • Ask if he would go to see the doctor as they would have some options for him or i know in the chemist you can get snore strips they just get placed across the nose and they are meant to stop the snoring.
Good luck hope you get some sleep soon before baby comes along.

    • I may grab some of the strips this afternoon & see how we go :)
Anything will beat waking him up twice a night lol..
      Poor bugger..
      Thanks !

  • I sympathise with you, my hubby makes the sound of every train pulling into central station. I’ve got myself all organised and when he starts his noise I move to another bedroom, I call it my sanctuary. I have it all set up just for me, even bought all new bedding etc.. lol!!

    • LOL I love your idea hahaha, I definitely am considering doing something similar myself, We have a spare room, just need to set it up, as it’s currently being used as a storage shed.. Days are getting longer as I get closer to bubs arrival..

  • you may find his snoring has gotten worse to being over tired or even stress can cause it. Other wise buy a blow up mattress you can them that you plug them in and they blow up and to the size of a queen size bed of the ground just like a mattress and base type height

    • Yeah I do think it has gotten worse as his work hours have increase.. Thanks! i’ll look into that :)

  • Ear plugs :) Or a good elbow to the side or even cuddle up so he remains on his side :) Good luck

    • I did try that one last night, And mentioning it to him, seemed to help! He’s a little more subconsciously aware of it.. So just nudging him & telling him to roll over did the trick.. 1 night down – lets see if we can keep it up! hahaha

  • I think you really should consider ear plugs, you are pregnant and need your sleep. Using them now till bub arrives will help you get the rest your body and bub needs, and when the little angel arrives maybe you could have a nap in the day when bub is sleeping.
Any how I want to wish you all the best of wishes and happiness.

    • :) yeah your right ! I think I’ll give them a shot.. i have 5 weeks left of work now so i will need all the energy i can to make it through that lol !

  • Try pinning a tennis ball on the back of his PJ’s. it stops them from sleeping on their back!
Good Luck with the delivery, you will need every minute of sleep with a newborn!

    • He doesn’t wear Pjs :( lol he’s an Undies only sleeper!
Hahahaha but thanks for the tip!

      • Slip the tennis ball down the back of his undies!

  • omg i have been dealing with this my whole pregnancy too. last night i was laying there til 1am constantly nudging him. i usually end up jumping into my 2 year olds king single with her coz i just can’t deal with it, its SO ANNOYING. i feel your pain but unfortunately i dont have any suggestions other then earplugs?

    • LOL I did consider ear plugs, but don’t want to get used to having to use them to get sleep, because I figure once bub comes, they won’t be an option..
I think maybe a spare bed should be my investment hahaha :)
