Hello!

I have custody of my 9 month old niece. Her Mum, my brothers ex partner hasn’t seen her for 5 months, she just doesn’t care and has chosen drugs over her beautiful baby. My brother is rehabiliatating and will have his baby back soon hopefully. I just dont understand how a mother can leave her child. Its so heartbreaking. I am so glad that we can give her a home and show her the love she deserves.

  • yeah and by the way, addicts are selfish and will always choose the wrong thing over the right thing. hopefully they grow up and realise their mistakes. It is better for the child to be safe and away from that kind of crap.

    • i hope that they will be motivated to get their child back. addiction is a disease. i pray that they will recover for her sake!

  • I too cannot comprehend how anyone could choose anything over their own flesh and blood. I also have never known the dreadful power of illicit drugs over sone people. I pray I never find out. Good luck to your brother, I hope he gets his baby back soon. It will be sad for you to hand her back tho :(

  • A complex situation – drugs cause so much pain. Hope this family situation works out best for the baby.

  • Im so glad you have taken the baby in to give her the endless love she deserves. It just breaks my heart that a mum could just walk away like that although sad it might be the best thing for the bubs that she is out of that enviroment.. Sending you all the hope in the world that her father is able to find the strength to be a great dad sounds as if he is giving it his best shot. Big hugs to you and bubs..

  • Terrible to leave her baby like this. I hope your brother will soon be able to take care of his daughter. Meanwhile it’s fantastic that she’s in your hands! :-)
