yes a ninja is probably more of a suitable term….It has been a long and tiring day and now it is late and everyone is exhausted. The older kids are all asleep in bed but not the baby. You try the bedtime routine but baby is too wound up from an exciting evening so you have no choice but to rock him to sleep. Then you try to wrestle yourself out of your babies clingy grip, put them into bed, sneak out of their toy ridden room, shut the squeaky door slowly (which somehow makes the squeaking louder, not quieter), try to back away from the door quietly while trying not to trip over the pet that comes running over to sabotage you or the mother-in-law who is asking in the LOUDEST whisper ever, if the baby is asleep yet (you are trying jedi mind tricks on EVERYBODY by this point- baby go to sleep, stay asleep, mother-in-law, GO HOME, pet- get OUTSIDEEEE!)

Try to stifle that cough and avoid being seen by hubby in the kitchen who is looking all around for ONE clean cup all the while thinking that you had discovered that there were no clean cups about 10 mins ago when you tried to get a drink, so now you are trying to be silent and pretend that you didn’t notice….

Every guest has left now so it’s bedtime. Try to get the sheets changed and finally, FINALLY get to lay down on the bed when hubby walks into the room and semi-trips over the laptop’s charger cord which has the domino effect of knocking down the lamp so that the baby can wake up and cry because that noise was scary…..

DAD, I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU….. NINJA
