Hello!

I have had to take so much time off work of late due to serious ill health of my man who has moyamoya disease. My boss has been more than reasonable an I didn’t have any sick leave left however, it’s got to the stage where they need someone on the switchboard full time. I completely understand I just feel sad an I like my job & of course I am now concerned even more so financially. Instead of my boss terminating my employment he has given me the choice to resign & will pay me in lieu. I’m scared if I don’t resign now & something causes me to be unable to go to work I will get sacked immediately. My workplace has been more than fair with the time I’ve had off. I should feel more upset but I’m not, funny how the health of the man I love prioritises what’s important & what’s not. Not sure but think my last day is Friday. This will free me a little but bills still need paying so with my man unable to work I’m going to be job hunting again, sometimes a full time job in itself :)

  • I hope things have worked out for you and if you are not working that you are getting a carers pension and allowance to look after your husband, I got ill and had to stop work a few years ago, and I was the main wage earner, now my husband is my fulltime carer and I will never work again, he has put his life on hold to look after me, fortunately we own our home so we only have to pay our bills and live so financially it is not as stressful as it would be it we had a mortgage or rent to pay. I love my husband and am thankful for the sacrifices he has made for me.

  • Best of luck. It is so hard when the pressure of work overrides the love and care you have for family. Hugs

  • I hope that things have settled down for you on the job front, and you’ve found something that you enjoy. And I really pray that your partner is improving in health every day. It’s hard enough worrying about employment or illness, but throwing them both in the mix together can’t have been easy for you.
