In response to sending sick kids to school

I know having a child become sick at school or day care is unavoidable, but under no circumstances should a parent send their already sick child to any school or day care. I have had my children in day care centres and the amount of times I went into the centre to pick my kids up or drop them off and seeing kids sick or looking generally unwell is unbelievable. I know some people have to work to earn money, but I think taking a day or 2 off is far better than making everyone else’s children sick too. If my child has a stomach bug then they are home for at least 2 days after they are back to their normal selves.

I agree, I think it’s rather inconsiderate to send your sick child to school / daycare.

some people are so overcommitted moneywise, and may be on casual wages they cannot take time off – I am with you, and my son ALWAYS came first and still does, but I also know of others that have no family and really struggle

I agree with you, I see so many sick kids in the childcare and school too. It is not right to send a sick kid to school/childcare and make every other kid sick.

Unfortunately, I have heard of some people being penalised for taking sick days.

I don’t think anyone should send their sick children to day care or school as it get passed on, like a continual loop.

i was rewading at my sons school friday and a little girl came out and threw up everywhere,,, Poor little thing her mum knew she wasnt well but said she was just hungry

I agree also when it comes to school kids i dontbelieve they should send them while very sick
