Hello!

Isn’t it ironic….when my kids were young, I used to wish for peace and quiet and some alone time. Things that needed to be done were just so non stop and never ending. I used to gave conversations with my friends, in similar situations, about how good it would be when the kids had grown up and left home. How we could enjoy life on our terms. Well, be careful what you wish for! It’s just happened to me, I’m an empty nester :,( In those younger days I never realised how much I would actually miss my kids. My kids are my life and my house is so empty and quiet now :,(

  • My children are older too but still have two at home. I love them being here and know how hard it is with my eldest having left. It makes me sad that we will never have a Sunday morning all piled into one bed telling stories again. Having children in the house is certainly something to be treasured.

  • There are still so many ways for people to fill their lives. Many people with children that have left the family home still find fulfilment. Maybe find something that makes you happy. There are many community organisations that need help and give so much happiness in return.

  • It can be tough on parents when the kids have grown. I never ever wish the time away and happy for it to go slow.

  • Hmmmm, I’m not looking forward to when my kids fly the nest :( Knowing people who have already gone thru this, it takes a lot of adjusting
