Lately i have been feeling like my kids are sick all the time and never seem to catch a break my youngest daughter is up to cold number 4 since the beginning of august. due to her medical issues as a baby (heart condition Tetralogy of Fallot) she seems to catch things so much easier then her sister. luckily for her there is medication she can take for it but its so heartbreaking seeing her so sick all the time. when her sister catches a cold or any bug its over in a few days, but for my youngest its more like a couple of weeks at a time.

i know in a way i am lucky she is fairly healthy otherwise and that their are children out there with much bigger problems then she has but i am a mum feel so helpless when she seems like she cant catch a break. this time around luckily for her i think will pass fairly quickly as she is already better and its only day three (fingers crossed).

  • My twins in their first 18 months seemed like they were always sick, one worse than the other, but thank goodness it passed hopefully you will catch a break soon

  • We had gastro 5 times in 9 months last year so I feel your pain! I wish others would be a bit more careful and mindful about unnecessarily sharing their germs and going out

  • I have my fingers x’d for you too. Its certainly been a cold long Winter. I think you get years where the whole family is just sick for months & months. Luckily for us our health hasn’t been too bad this winter

  • It has been a terrible winter for my grandkids & they have shared their bugs with me & I feel we all have had continual coughs & colds! Hopefully spring will clear the air & cure our germs.

  • For the first2-3 years of my twins lives i felt the same. They had no real medical problems but always had snotty noses and colds. And i did have a lot of ear and throat infections! terrible terrible time. I felt like it was my fault! Thankfully, for us when they had their adenoids/tonsils out & grommits in all the sickness that plagued out house evaporated!
A lot of people blame day care, and other kids. I dont necessarily think thats true – and that used to bug me when people would conclude thats why my kids were sick!
I’ll have my fingers crossed it passes your house soon. Hopefully with warmer weather around the corner, it’ll ease up dramatically x

    • thanks, fingers crossed this warmer weather gets rid of the colds in the house. so glad things got better for you and your twins.
