Hello!

It has been raining for days here in Melbourne. My toddler (and me) was going stir crazy in the house so yesterday I decided to let him play in the rain. He was all rugged up and had his coat and gumboots on and he had a ball jumping in puddles and playing with mud. I can be a bit of a clean freak at times but I didn’t mind all the mud and mess because he was having such a great time. Then it was straight into a nice warm bath! Thankfully the sun is shining today so we’ll be able to get out and about without all the mud.

  • Your post made me smile as I did the same thing with my kids. I think it’s good for them to get a little messy every now and then :)

  • Usually when we wish to avoid mud and puddles (going out) my kids always manage to jump out of the car straight into a puddle :/ go shopping mopping the floor as we go. I love the rainy weather though it reminds me how fresh our planet can be

  • Great idea to let them play. Hope you got loads of photos! Did a similar thing too and it is so cute looking back at little hands covered in mud, grinning faces and curious little people exploring the soft squelchy stuff.

  • I don’t mind them getting wet and muddy if I can wash them quickly.

  • Rain and mud and the outdoors are lots of fun!

    • Rugging up after wet weather and hot chocolate helps.

  • Mud can be a little bit annoying indeed. But a lot of kids don’t mind it at all.
Glad that the sun is back.
Here in Perth we had a horrible weather last Saturday. Then some rain. Today nice sun. Perfect to do extra washing!
    Enjoy the sun! :-)

  • My kids loved playing in the rain too. I too would give them a warm bath afterwards, hot chocolate by the fire. I think I loved it too
