Me time is often a foreign concept to mums. And for me (a mother with three special needs children) I find it almost impossible and it was wearing me down. Badly. I couldnt even go to the toilet alone without either a child coming with me OR the dog (who has such a fascination with me in the toilet that she even gets up to go with me in the middle of the night). And being claustrophobic I find it difficult to shut the door.

Then the last few weeks I decided that I was going to have me time in the shower…..I used to “time save” with hubby but now I do that alone…..

Then a few weeks ago I found some facial products and decided to use them in the shower. Even if I only get to do this two-three times a week for 2 minutes it is amazing how much better I feel having had “me-time” in the shower and given myself a small pamper.

So if you are struggling for me time, I can highly recommend grabbing yourself a facial product and giving yourself a 2-3 minute pamper in the shower a few times a week. It can be anything “out of the ordinary”. For me it was finding my nutrimetics complexion refiner that went unopened in my cupboard for so long. Rubbing that into my skin took away the grit, and with it some of my tension. Washed down the drain.

So if you struggle for me time because you have a busy life like I do….try for 2-3 minutes every few days in the shower to pamper yourself. Be it a body scrub, face scrub or even a foot pamper….because sometimes those 2-3 minutes can save our sanity.
