Hello!

Today marks the day of our move interstate, and it makes me sad on so many levels. We have lived here for three years, created a life and a story, and we’re being moved – to where we have noone? Oh, how I hope we are able to make friends quickly again!

Post your story
  • I went through the same thing 18 years ago and whilst I still miss my friends and family, I have met a whole new range of friends here. The move overall was a challenge but if I had ,y time over I would not change a thing and I am glad I made the move and better for it! Good luck!

  • We moved after 18 years of living in the same house. Moved interstate as well, it is a big adjustment and in my mind I still call our old place home.

  • Are you a defence family? My husband has been in the Air Force for 25 years. It’s hard moving all the time but it’s also an adventure and a great way to meet new people and experience new things. Good luck with your move.

  • I know what you mean it’s funny how a place can hold so many precious moments. I used to be so scared of new beginnings but now I see them as an adventure and get excited on how i can redecorate or rearrange my new place. Or discovering new friendship or playmates for my young one. Welcome to your new chapter in life

  • It is hard to move and start again but this is another chapter in your life’s story and more memories to be made and you have each other until those new friends are made and you can stay in contact with your old friends as well. Your life will be full of new chapters yet to be written and that is what life is a book that writes it’s self with happy sad good bad and trying times but there is always a end so no use worrying about what is yet to happen.
The worst part is the packing your old home and unpacking a new home. If you made friends quickly before than there is no reason you won’t again if that is the type of people you are.

  • It is hard to leave your life and move on to a whole new meaning to “normal” but hopefully there will be people you can connect with at your new place. Take your time, all will be well.

  • Its always hard moving to somewhere strange. I moved from the UK to Adelaide where i knew no one we moved here for a better life for our kids and was the best move ive ever done, yes it took a little while to make new friends but i still wouldnt change what i did.
Good luck with the move and hopefully you make new friends real quick.
