I was waiting her coming for a week now

it was Friday 20 July 2012 ,I went for a walk came back and wasn’t feeling very good.

I was feeling contractions from a week or so ya the false ones.

When I hubby returned from work he saw that the house was as he had left,I didn’t cook or do the dishes either.

he did the dishes and cooked .I love him for that.

After watching masterchef we when to sleep

around 12 am I woke up and suddenly my waters broke.

I woke my hubby,he was so tired working the whole day,he told me to call the hospital ,I was literally shivering due to excitement and fear.

we reached the hospital at 2 am.I was told to cone in because I was strep g positive.

I was checked and I was 1 cm dilated and completely effaced. They gave me penicillin and I walked to the delivery room.

I didn’t want to be induced so I waited for contractions to come but they were no where,I walked ,climbed stairs but no contractions.

so at 5 am we decided to start oxytocin drip,

the contractions kicked in 1 hour but they were not evenly phased but they very strong,at 8 am I was declared in labour though I didn’t have regular contractions

I was coping very well ,my husband was massaging myback and I was moving around, using the gym ball also.

now my baby’s heartbeat not clear so I was put to bed.

I felt I wanted to push the midwife checked and I was fully dialatedat 3 :15pm I baby girl was born weighting 3.18 kg,and height 49 cm.

I had a 3 rd degree tear.but it was worth it.

  • Thanks for sharing your story! I love hearing about other people’s experiences. It’s amazing how the same event can differ so much between people. All 3 of mine were very different.

  • Thanks for sharing your experience. I was induced with my second baby and it was the worst pain I have ever felt…lucky for me no major complications but I don’t believe my body was ready to deliver my baby. I don’t ever want to be induced again! lol
