Hello!

My Mum is going down hill fast. We got her out of hospital yesterday which she should still be in but they needed the beds. She has been fighting cancer and a bad heart and other things just keep going wrong with her. I came home today but have been with her since Sunday and I am now getting very concerned as to how much longer we will have her. So I got 2 tattoos one on each of the insides of my wrists today. One for my Dad who passed 16 years ago and Mum loved it than I got one for her and she held my hand when I showed her and told me she loved me. I am really glad she got to see hers as Dad never did but needless to say it has been a teary day for me. As my Mum is a person of few words and for her to hold my hand and tell me she loved me and loved the tattoo I got for her again made me teary. So at the moment I am on an emotional roller coaster ride. It’s hard to see her struggle to do anything and needs help to get into bed and dressed and almost every thing really when she was the strength in the family since Dad passed. Sorry people having a sooky moment

  • Wow that’s terrible that she got kicked out because they need the beds. I suppose the only consolation you can take from that is that she’s with the people who love her most. Praying for you and your family, that you kind find some peace soon, whatever comes.

  • My Daughter and her Husband ans son live with my mum and Candy has done 2 courses as well as hubby in aged care and disability And Candy currently works part time in a nursing home for palliative care and is also doing her EN course. As Mum did not want to leave her home and move here so Candy has lived with her since 3 years after Dad died so she had her year 12 cert ceremony got her cert and went home with Mum and has been there since as she promised Dad before he died she would care for Mum and she will never break that promise to her Grandad. But Thank you for you kind words it’s times like these I feel I can have a sook and not burden my family

  • Been there, and currently doing it again with my dad. It’s emotionally so draining but like you said you got to share a beautiful moment together. Not everyone can handle palliative care at home, but trust me no matter how hard it gets you’ll be glad you did it. Hope you have all the services helping you, eg. Blue care, respite and such. My thoughts are with you.
