Hello!

My partner and I are not hugely into Christmas but with this being our first Christmas where our three year old understands what is happening, we haven’t had much of a chance to really get into it. My mother, on the other hand, is Christmas crazy. She is talking to my son saying that she will have a sign outside saying ‘Stop Here’ so ‘Santa will know she has some grandsons that he needs to leave presents for’.

If Santa comes, won’t he come to our house only to leave the presents? If I say anything anti-Santa or anti-commercialist (we try to hand make most of our gifts) she tells me to be quiet as we are ruining Christmas for him. I want to tell her to back off but our kids (we also have a 8mth baby) are her only grandkids so I feel guilty about it. Do we just have to put up with it?

  • Your nanna sound’s like she loves the children and has probably given her a new lease on life.I would lightly suggest that some times you do things the way you want to do them! A tough one!

  • Does she have any idea how Christmas crazy she sounds?
