Hello!

My husband and I got ourselves into quite a financial mess, after him needing an operation, losing his job, then me sustaining a crippling back injury. Debts mounted that badly that I became afraid to open the mail or answer the phone to another debt collector or finance company.

Leading up to the birth of our first child, we finally got ourselves on the right track. So, I decided I needed to do something to cure my fear of the evil phone and mailbox. I started asking for baby samples, as I was overwhelmed as a new mum. That lead to trial websites, surveys and competitions. I can now say my fear is cured. Less than a year later, my list is endless. Nappies, baby food, beauty products, haircare, home cleaning, food, DVD’s, movie tickets (I once one a free movie ticket while I was watching a movie that I had won tickets to), movie premieres, and my favourite- the 60inch 3D television I won.

It takes effort, don’t get me wrong. But I love the feeling of winning or getting chosen! I am addicted!

  • Inspiring story! I first became addicted to free samples when I was in highschool. There weren’t many at all back then, early 2000s, but getting anything for free was the greatest feeling in the world at the time, haha!

  • Same! I enter every competition I cone across! Radio call ups, puzzles, 25 words or less, 50 words or less, jokes, photos. I am addicted. If I win something I won’t use, I pass it on to someone who will or give it as a gift. It’s such a buzz to win, even the local cricket club chook raffle ;)

  • Dear Freebie Addict, I am the same. I win my fair share of competitions, I take part in product reviews and of course I love a free sample, many of these products I’ve gone on to purchase or even change brands. I have a rule of thumb though, I never take what I’m not going to use or want to try – I have a very low opinion of those that just take because it’s free, I see them boasting on many forums I belong to, taking for the sake of a freebie is why many other people miss out – I wouldn’t request a free sample of bird seed when I don’t have a bird.

You are right, it does take effort especially with the competitions, however my prizes keeping me going.

Hope you continue to win :-)

  • I am signed up to a few freebie sample sites and you can get so much free stuff, even by asking some companies directly. They always have heaps of baby items, lots of nappies.
