Hello!

It has been about a year since we were informed that our youngest may have an autism spectrum disorder. That was confirmed and it has been a difficult year but there have been so many positives. He is a delightful boy and at times I don’t understand what he is thinking and why he is thinking something but he has come forward in leaps and bounds.

School was the best thing for him. His teacher understood him so well and accepted him and he was able to thrive. We still have bad days but thankfully they are now less frequent.

  • I guess at least with a diagnosis you can source the right information.

  • My little guy is on the spectrum too. His school is fantastic and cater extremely well in that regard. There is so much information on the condition now and lots of support too. I’m so glad to hear he is doing well xx

  • Our 6 year old daughter was diagnosed with mild autism last year and it was the hardest thing to accept. As she is in year one this year she has been improving as both her teachers understand autism and we have her seeing a speech pathologist and occupational therapist. It may take along time before massive improvements are noticed but at least we know she can get the help needed and funding with autism SA. Knowing we are not alone helps too
