Hello!

I had never heard of Postpartum cardiomyopathy until I was diagnosed with it after an emergency cesarian to have my twin son who are now 6 years old. So this was my 3rd pregnancy, I had previously had my first son natural at full term and was a fantastic pregnancy and birth experience. Then 3 years later I gave birth to my second son, now this was unfortunately an emergency cesarian too as my son kicked thru his water bag at 33weeks one Saturday night while I layed in bed. So that was a bit of an experience. Then came my third pregnancy, this was a rough one. I was extremely sick after 20 weeks pregnant, things started to go down hill fast, at 33 weeks, I vomited constantly for two days ( I presumed as it was twins I was just extra sick because I had more babies inside), I went to hospital at 3:30 am in an ambulance, leaving my son’s with their dad at home. Anyhow long story made shorter. After an emergency cesarian, I became even more unwell. I didn’t even see my babies until they were 3 days old. I couldn’t walk, they done lots of tests and on day 3, finally diagnosed me with something I’d never even heard of . “Postpartum Cardiomyopathy”. My left ventricle of my heart was only working at 30% capacity so I was then put on 5 different heart medications. I could barely walk two meters before needing to sit down, it was very scary. It certainly added pressure to my day. I had 4 young boys to look after. I did recover. After 9 months on medication and lots of scans , good food and strength from within, my heart doctor finally gave me the good news that my heart was back to full capacity. I stopped taking all the medication. I was told to get my tubes tied and I can’t have any more children. I was happy and blessed having 4 amazing sons anyway!………but in my next story called “Never Say Never”, I will reveal my miracle. Thanks for reading my true story. ????
