Hello!

You know who you are.
You have taken on a serious commitment, to love and care for your pet and to have a lovely relationship.
I am curious as to why some dog owners do not pick up their dog’s waste from public spaces.
Why do some owners not walk their dogs regularly so the poor animal jumps up at the fence at each passer-by in the street?
Why do some dog owners leave their dogs outside at night so the dog barks at possums, mice and disturbs the neighbourhood?
Am I being unreasonable to suggest that you would not treat a baby in the same manner.
Enlighten me. Please.

  • And the ones who leave them permanently on a chain :/ Even worse are the ones who abuse, neglect and starve their dogs. Have to wonder why some people get pets….or have kids. Talk to your neighbours, let them know, be a voice for those poor dogs who don’t have one

  • All I can say is that they are possibly the same people that don’t take their dogs to the vet when they need it. Resent having to spent a cent on the dogs, and often rehome their dogs when behavioural problems start.
Dog lovers will never understand why this happens as our dogs are part of our family

    • You are right! Dog lovers do not understand this as dogs are members of the family.

  • Dog ownership and in fact any kind of animal ownership does come with lots of responsibility. Walking dogs is a great form of exercise and cleaning up after them takes only seconds. Dogs do love to be with people as they are pack animals. Fortunately; most people I know take good care of their pet animals.

  • I am amazed at that too! I wonder what was the actual reason why they got a dog then. Because if you welcomed him into your home, you have to take care of him. Show respect to him and show respect to other people too.
I’ve got a Labrador Retriever, that does his “business” outside, in a paved area. He never did anything on the grass. Well, in my front garden I often have to take away poop of other dogs, whose owners don’t care enough obviously and let them wander on my grass. When I walk Buddy, I don’t let him walk on private gardens. He stays on the footpath with me. That simple.
And I walk with him every day, rain or shine, even if sometimes I’m not really in the mood. But once I see how happy Buddy is to go out, I just focus on that.
