I have heard that raspberry leaf tablets help with afterbirth pain and bleeding. Has anyone used them and have you seen any difference??

  • I have never heard of this before! Research it well before you try it.

  • Always good to be careful and research before eating and drinking something new.

  • No; would seem best to check after reading the answers; seems to have the opposite effect.

  • I thought they were meant to help get the cervix ready for labour not after but i may be wrong.

  • I know that raspberry leaf helps prep the womb for birth but had never heard of them for afterbirth pain and bleeding, but it does make sense that they could be used for that. Like Articwynter says I would recommend chatting to a pharmacist or even your health nurse as they are likely to have had feed back in this area.

  • I haven’t heard that, but was told drinking raspberry leaf tea would help bring on labour if you were late. Didn’t work for me. I was 2 weeks overdue and thought it was worth a try, but no luck.

  • I remember using raspberry leaf tablets probably when I was in my teens for painful heavy periods as I didn’t much relief from Ponstan etc,. I remember being on them for a while therefore I’d have to say they did help however my recollection is a bit hazy as it was sooooo long ago
