Hello!

I’m currently a stay at home mum to 2 beautiful girls aged 15 months and 3 1/2 years. Things were ticking along nicely, I’m lucky enough we can survive without working. Yesterday I received a job offer from my previous job offering me a job in days a week. Now I’m really torn… It’s a great opportunity doing a job I like close to home however I’m worried about how my girls will cope in child care 3 days a week, how I’ll keep up with washing, cleaning, food etc. Not to mention how much I’ll miss them. I just want to know how other juggle the work /family. Do you think the kids suffer or thrive at child care?

I know so many people who are really struggling to get work, I feel very lucky to be offered a part time job. I guess I need to make a decision and I know a lot of people who work with kids and have happy healthy children.

  • You can always quit if it doesn’t work.

  • It’s important to get your kids to socialize so they can adapt easily later in life. Definitely give it a chance and see how it goes and it might surprise you how well it goes sometimes.

  • To be honest I think 3 days a week sounds great, am sure the girls with thrive. Be organised as in prepare meals ahead of time, freeze them. Organise work wardrobe, children’s clothing night before as well as snacks, lunches. Give it a go & if it doesn’t work at least you can say you have tried but seems a good balance to me :)
