There comes a point when a Mum has to decide how much she is prepared to sacrifice in order to be at home with her family. We have to decide if it is better to own a home, have nice things, go on holidays, etc…or give up some of life’s luxuries. I reached this point a number of months ago. I knew that if I didn’t go back to work it would mean going without many things, but after talking though everything with my hubby I realised that all of those things meant much less to me than being able to stay home with our toddler. I adore the time I get to spend at home with our son, and I’m so blessed to have a hubby that acknowledges the benefits of me being home. He has had to make sacrifices too, but we wouldn’t change anything about our current family situation.

  • Things are things. You don’t always need things.

  • You and your husband have been very wise in sorting out what are luxuries and what are essentials. We only have our children for such a short time before they go to school etc. I don’t think you will regret your decision.

  • They are only small for such a short time, holidays will still be there when he is older and doesn’t want to spend time with you. (That is what I tell myself when my friends tell me about the places they go – then he giggles and I think “There is nowhere I would rather be”)

  • That’s lovely :)
I enjoy going to work 2 days a week but am dreading ever needing to do more. I’m certain your son loves his time with you too!
