i just want to remind you ladies about this situation that i experienced…..

well i just got back from my mother in law’s house because i had to pick up my daughter. it seems that she has learnt a new word from nana and not a great one. nana was trying to make a call and the reception dropped out and it happened a few times which made her say that naughty word quite a few times. then my daughter decides to copy her and now knows a new word starting with s. so let’s try to remind people around our children that they are setting an example.

on a related note, my eldest child came home from school a while ago and said that a boy had called her a name and proceeded in explaining what that word was by saying it starts with s
so i’m asking what it is because i really don’t want to guess because then i might be teaching her these words, so she tells me that it’s the worst thing that you can call someone starting with s, and you know what i’m thinking of….
she finally says that this boy has called her stupid……children are so innocent

  • I think that it is important that adults are aware of the language that they use around children. They don’t need to be exposed to that.

  • It is terribly sad to hear young children repeating swear words & the parents are often to blame. It may be funny the first time, but who could handle it 24/7.

    • There are so many other good words that can be used!

  • Adults swearing around children really annoys me. A few in our family did and it caused a lot of hard feelings when they were told not to swear in front of our children. It simply is not acceptable….What’s so hard to understand?

  • My inlaw forgets to watch Wat They say. They say the b word alot and My son came home after spending the weekend there and in frustration went to call me that b word. i was 8 mnths pregnant and still i got on that trampoline to put hot english musturd in his mouth. My son now knows that Wen he hears a naughty word he is not aloud to say them.

    • haha cheeky buggers hey! it does suck that we have to punish them for someone else’s slip up but at least he has learned about what is appropriate to say in public

  • Yes we do really have to remind ourselves and others that we are setting an example and that they are always listening and watching….. I really thought I was bad at swearing but it turns out I mustn’t be as bad as I thought as my son is nearly 4 and not a bad word yet :)
