The dreaded Notice to Vacate - Real Mum story on MoM

We’ve been living in our rented hour for 5 years, today we received a 120 day notice to vacate. Sure it’s plenty of notice, but I’m still worried if we will find another place. Due to financial struggles our rental history is less than perfect. We are completely priced out of our suburb, we need to stay in the area for various reasons. I’m really stressed about it and I have 120 days of stress to look forward too! If we could afford to buy we would, but sadly with neither of us currently working that wont be an option for a quite some time.

I hate renting, constantly having the threat of being evicted over your head doesn’t make living easy. Sure we can get some help with a bond loan and such but with so many people applying for the same house, how will we get the house over a couple who is working and has a good rental history. I’m even looking into seeing if we qualify for habitat for humanity. I just wish some good news would come today!

I sincerely hope that your days have brightened up much more since this post =) I know what you mean, I’m not quite in the same boat, but pretty close, and with a real estate who are a bunch of jerks and don’t acknowledge much at all other than their greedy pockets!!

anything bad on your rental history get wiped off the slate as soon as it is 3 years old

Legally I don’t think they can kick you out till you have found somewhere to go. Get legal aid and ask where you stand. If you rent privately speak to your landlords some are quite alright in letting you stay till you find somewhere to go. If your with a real estate ask them to help you find another place.
