Its my son’s 2nd birthday next week and in amidst the practice sessions mastering fondant for his cake, the stuffing of treat bags and the wondering how on earth we’re going to entertain more than one child (please don’t let it rain!) I’ve been reflecting on the past two years.
It seems like much more that two years, I can’t really believe he’s only turning two as it feels like he’s always been here.
And its been the best two years ever, I honestly haven’t ever had a moment where I’ve wanted to be doing anything else. I love the fact I can make the world’s most disgusting playdough and he’ll play happily with it, how he thinks my singing and guitar playing is great even though it all sounds like cats having their tails pulled. How I can make a mess of everything I had planned for the day and all he tells daddy is that we had fun chasing each other around the kitchen yelling yaaarrrgggghhhhhh.
I laugh more than I’ve ever laughed before, every day is more fun than I ever thought it could be. Thank you, son, you really are what life is about.
