Last December my mum had a massive heart attack and was in a coma and put on a ventilator and was not expected to live but after being in a coma for 2 weeks the unexpected happened she woke from that coma and is still here with us today. She has had to learn how to walk again speak feed herself but cannot still shower herself without help my dad is there with her and they are still living at there home together but they are getting some help from homecare and community nursing and I go there twice a week to help my dad out so he can have a little break
She is slowly getting better but she will never be the same again as she has a little brain damage which makes her slightly confused at times But she is still here with us that is the main thing

  • Your story has really touched me as my Mum as we speak is going onto her 5th week in hospital and can no longer weight bare so now once she is well we have to find a way to get a ramp built the whole length of the front house to the drive way so when she is well she can go home even if she is chair bound. It has been hard as she has gotten so sick at times she has told me she has had enough and is just going to give in….she has said her good byes to me a few times now and it is very upsetting as I don’t want my Mum to go any where and her room has all been done up for her and she has seen the pictures as to what she has to come home to as I can not get to the hospital much due to distance I call twice a day and give her a pick me up when she needs it.
