Hello!

It’s been raining here, off and on for the last three days, which means my home is beginning to resemble a Chinese laundry! I have sheets and blankets hanging off doors and my clothes horse is full! I do have a clothes dryer but I only like to use it at the end of the day, just to take the damp or chill off the washing. Hubby says I’m mad and I should just use the dryer from the get go. I like to think I’m being environmentally and economically responsible!

  • I usually check the weather forecast days in advance to work out my washing rooster.

  • I love drying my stuff outside but indeed the weather can be a problem. In wet days I just use the dryer. I couldn’t stand having wet stuff around the house :-) But I try to do my best for the environment having installed solar panels and hot water solar system. I think about that.. and I feel a little less guilty! :-)

  • Wet washing is a pretty common problem and we strung a line up underneath our patio for the wet days; it is a life saver. I am very careful about wet clothing in the house due to the damp. I do use a dryer when necessary as mounds of clothing around the house is not much fun! Good Luck with your drying! :)

  • We prefer to use drying racks too -it’s cheaper!
