What costumes are people wearing for Halloween? I am dressing up as a witch with the full long, crooked and warty witches nose!

  • I don’t celebrate Halloween. Why do we feel the need to introduce yet another American custom into our lives? Why doesn’t someone create a good old Aussie celebration? Now that I would celebrate!

  • At work today we had witches, fairies, goblins, ghosts

  • Not doing Halloween this year. There’s so much out there. Love the target witch. It talks but you have to push a button and that could be tiring.

  • We aren’t really into Halloween, we live out of town so there aren’t any other kids to come by. My kids want to do it but I don’t love the whole idea of knocking on strangers doors and asking for lollies and chocolates. Especially when I spend the rest of the year telling them to never take lollies and chocolates from strangers.

    • Fair point! The kids know that it is a one off night and we are with them and it is OK when parents are with the kids.

  • I happily and willingly enjoy Halloween and the origins are quite interesting and it was originally founded by the Celtics. I see it as an opportunity for families and communities to have fun together. We do not spend much at Halloween, but do have a good time preparing food and treats and having a party. Any excuse for fun and a good time! :) It is definitely a personal choice. I am a fan of embracing all sorts of festivals and celebrations.

  • We don’t do Halloween. I feel like it’s being forced on us by retail outlets.

    • I totally agree, it has become very present in retail outlets in the last 10 years. It’s an American tradition, that retailers have jumped on, and most children don’t even know the history behind the event.
