Were these issues discussed with the school first?
Was the ball thrown AT the child or TO the child? Did your child make any attempt to say “sorry”? Spite or temper? Has youre child hurt another before?
Some swear words are worse than others. Maybe it’s not the first time it has happened. All children need to respect adults – something that isn’t taught enough these days.

I’m sorry but I really can’t comment completely on this story. You really have not given a lot to work with??
Any how calling a teacher a swear word is serious in my book and did your child mean to hit the child with the ball?
Either way if it was me in this situation I would have a meeting with the school and receive all the information first, if then you still do not agree with the decision they have made tell them and discuss the matter … if you are still unhappy and not satisfied then approach the ED.

Camp is often a very special and difficult time and teachers need to have the full cooperation of children to ensure that everyone is kept safe in the unfamiliar environment. I certainly have experienced children being banned from camp and other activities and I fully support the decision of the teachers involved. If a child cannot behave in a classroom situation they could endanger themselves or others by not behaving outside….walking on cliffs, boating, visiting parks etc. all have dangers if you don’t behave. I understand that your child only did a few things wrong but if the teachers are not getting the cooperation level they expect then I think it is their duty to prevent certain children participating in certain activities.

These issues can often be mediated with the school and family. Hope you got a resolution that worked for everybody.

Yeah, but as the mother of a child who’s been persistently bullied… That “throwing a ball” could have a lot more behind it.

So Glad that they were able to help you and i hope they help you come to a fair result with the school.. It sounds like you are a caring mother that does takes notice when a child has done something wrong.. I would not expect a chid not to be included in something as speical as a camp over one slip of the togune. and another small incident. My kids school has a traffic light beviour pouch for every kid in their school in their homeroom.. .. Everyone starts on green at the start of everyday.. if they miss behave in class and dont stop after a warning they get give a yellow card.. If they continue to be naughty they get a red card and sent to the office to think about what they have done and parents are informed to decide on punishment to fit the behaviour.. My kids are so proud of themselves for never been off the green card.. But this is a visual display to remind them of good behaviour and it seems to work, ..

  I like that idea of a traffic light system – very sensible!

I hope you will receive a prompt response from them.
I can imagine how terrible it must have been for your child not being allowed to go to camp! It’s an experience kids look so much forward to!
