Article Target Recall Popular Toddler Bed

Target have issued a recall for the Childcare Mason toddler bed due to injury risks.

In a statement the major retailer has said, “At Target Australia, the safety of our customers and their families is our highest priority.

“This is why we’ve decided to conduct a voluntary recall of the Childcare Mason Toddler Bed (model: # 091951M-003) due to a safety and quality issue.

“This item was available for purchase between January 2017 and March 2019 inclusive.

“We recommend you stop using the item immediately and return it to a Target or Target Country store as soon as possible, with or without a receipt, where our team members will provide you with a full refund.

No other nursery furniture is affected by this recall.”

PROBLEM: The problem is believed to be due to the central support of the bed which may collapse, which is a result of the product not being manufactured to Target safety and quality standards.

RISK: There is a risk of fall if the bed collapses, resulting in possible injury.

  • It was on the market, for sale, for over 2 years. Why did it take so long to recall it? Was there not enough kids injured at the start?

  • You mean before a child gets hurt or dies and you get sued? Still at least they are being honest and letting us know so this can be prevented. I have to be happy they are caring about customers.

  • And kids do so like to jump on their beds.

    • I got caught the first time I was going to jump on my bed. I heard about a little boy who jumped up and down on his bed. He didn’t land properly and hit is head on the foot of the old style bed and knocked himself unconscious. He never jumped on his bed again.
