Mums share the kids TV shows that drive them absolutely bonkers and some may really surprise you. They certainly did us!

We asked which children’s TV programs really got up parents noses and the Mouths of Mums readers certainly didn’t hold back.

Parents top 10 most hated shows include:

Teletubbies
Peppa Pig
In the Night Garden
Yo Gabba Gabba
Calliou
Dora
Baby Jake
Adventure Time
Sponge Bob
Little Princess

Even Banana’s in Pyjamas and The Wiggles got a mention.

Some parents shared that they won’t even let their children watch the remakes of any of the good old shows they watched as a kid themselves; like bananas in pyjamas, bob the builder, Thomas, Noddy etc. They only let them watch the original shows.

  • I really hated Teletubbies. They drove me insane.

  • I love Adventure Time and Spongebob haha! Calliou makes me sick. No wonder people on YouTube have made ridiculous mock videos of him…

  • The Baby Jake song really gets stuck in your head!

  • I actually didn’t mind some of those.

  • So pleased these shows were not on TV when my children were little – they loved play school for a little while

  • These shows are made for kids not adults. My son loved Teletubbies as they spoke in the same way he did … baby babble. He also started using words and was fluently talking at 18 months, so was in no way hindered by the Teletubbies. Everything is a phase an dhe then moved on to Bear in the Big Blue House (fondly remembered), Blues Clues, The Wiggles, Hi-5. These shows can offer so much to our young ones.

  • There’s definitely some of mine on there but I’d like to add Sarah and Duck and The Fairies.

  • I agree with a previous comment that they are made for kids. Do they have to drive us crazy at the same time though? I wish they weren’t so babyish. The teletubbies and in the night garden aren’t even teaching kids how to speak and don’t seem to be educational at all.

  • My 3 year old loves Calliou and Peppa. They’re my favourites too! I’m not a fan of Yo Gabba Gabba though.

  • Can’t do Dora! Or La La, she drives me insane! I’m a fan of ones alot of people don’t like, in the night garden, teletubbies, dirt girl to name some.

  • I can’t stand pepper pig.
I also don’t like the remakes (animated shows) which were around when I was a kid, like thomas, postman pat etc. (i don’t mind the show, just don’t like the animation of it).

  • I agree about the remakes of some old shows, the originals are the best, like Postman pat and Thomas the tank. I like Bottletop bill and Koala bros really Australian, need more of the, hope we see a favourite list on MOM too.

  • Dora!! Honestly, my son doesn’t need to learn Spanish!

  • I’d take any of these over ‘Giggle and hoot’! That owls voice drives me crazy!!!!

  • I haven’t heard of some of these shows. Even though Peppa Pig can be annoying, at least it promotes quality family time of The Pig family. I am not a fan of Curious George or The Little Princess television shows, the voices and characters are annoying.

  • Having lived through Yo Gabba Gabba and the Night Garden, I really truely hate those shows. Some of the others were ok but those two did my head in!

  • We haven’t got to this stage yet as my son is too young for shows but I’ve been told to stay away from teletubies.

  • I don’t like In the night garden, Sponge Bob, Adventure Time and Teletubbies. However my 9yr old does like Adventure time.
My youngest LOVES Peppa Pig and Cailliou and I don’t mind that either.
We’ve put a pin on the channels we don’t like / think are less suitable for our kids to see.
