For the first time in more than a decade, one of the world’s most iconic movie houses is up for sale, and it could be yours for a cool US$5.25 million. Just wait until you see what secrets it holds!
It’s a rare chance to snap up the McAllister family residence from Home Alone, which has come onto the market for only the second time since the movie was filmed.
Located in Chicago, the impressive Georgian house was built in 1921, and underwent an expansion and renovation in 2018.
But the owners were careful to keep some of the most recognisable features from the film, including the staircase and formal living and dining areas.
However, movie buffs will know that the interiors of the 1990 film were actually shot at a high school building, where a two storey set constructed.
Even though the actual house has a spacious interior, it wasn’t big enough at the time to fit all of the cast and crew (remember that opening scene?!).
The house boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms and … wait for it … an state-of-the-art, indoor sports court. And there’s even a nod to the house’s cinematic past in the media room.
What an incredible home, with a colourful past. Could you see yourself living here?
