Hello!

Kmart has done it again! Only a few days ago, we celebrated the launch of the Kmart sausage roll maker and now there’s a new exciting appliance to change our breakfast routine forever. Meet the Kmart Toaster and Egg Cooker.

Making a princely breakfast of toast and eggs seems so simple, but getting it right is actually not that straight forward. The timing has to be just perfect – otherwise, you’re going to end up with stone-cold toast or a gluggy mess of glutinous eggs.

The new Kmart Toaster and Egg Cooker ensures that these two key brekkie ingredients are co-ordinated as smoothly as a symphony. Within minutes, you’ll have crunchy toast topped with perfectly cooked eggs. Bellissimo!

Controversial

Not everyone will agree though and some may think that this new machine is a waste of time and space. Most people will already have a toaster and how difficult is it, really, to make a boiled or poached egg? But we reckon there’ll be more fans than foes of this new combo-brekkie maker.

The new must-have kitchen appliance is a sleek looking machine – it’s black and silver and pretty snazzy. It is multi-function with four push buttons, with which you can select from three modes – egg, toast or toast & egg plus a cancel button.

The toaster has two wide slots for two slices of bread and a variable browning control switch. The adjoining egg cooker has a slot for either one poached sunny-side up egg or a steam-prepared boiled egg.

Breakfast In Minutes

So you can choose to have toast one day, just an egg the next and gosh, gee, whizz bang, you can have a 2-in-one brekkie that’s right – both an egg and toast prepared at the same time in under 5 minutes. How good is that!

Copy-Cat

The Kmart Toaster and Egg Cooker is pretty much a copy cat of the Tefal Toast ‘n Egg, which has been really popular since it launched about one year ago.

The Kmart version is selling for $49, which is significantly less than the Tefal version, which was retailing for around $79.

As expected with all newly launched Kmart appliances, the Kmart Toaster and Egg Cooker has sold out online and in-store within minutes. However, we also know the discount retailer will be re-stocking these soon so keep a look out on the Kmart website for new supply.

Now, all we need is a 3-in-1 miracle appliance that makes toast, eggs AND coffee all at once. Now that’s a product I would be buying! But in the meantime, I can’t wait to cook up perfect toast and eggs every morning.

Would you be keen to get the Kmart Toaster and Egg Cooker? Or is it just a waste of time? Tell us in the comments below.

  • No way! I can’t believe it. My 19 year old son will just love this. His fave breakfast is now eggs on toast.

  • This is a neat idea. If I didn’t have a toaster already I would totally get this. I’m too impatient to wait for water to boil for an egg and getting the fry pan out.

  • I don’t think i will need this.

  • My late husband bought one of these appliances over 20 years ago. It was great as he would get up a lot earlier than me so he’d put everything on while he got ready for work. Once we had kids it never got used. I think it would be perfect for a single person

  • Personally I think there are a little bit too many new products on the market that are not really necessary.

  • I will pass. Who wants to cook 2 slices of bread and only one egg at a time? Especially when the whole family are waiting. Much easier just cooking the eggs traditionally or even in the pie maker!

  • Why Is every new appliance a must have item? I don’t need it or want it

  • I would love one of these! It would allow me to clear cupboard space as it is two products in one and it would get used nearly every day in my household.

  • I like a minimalist kitchen and this to me would just be another thing for the shelf but I have to admit I like the idea as I love poached eggs but never cook them as its too hard! Now I’m torn,, to buy or not to buy??

  • I wouldn’t get this. It would take forever to do each persons breakfast separately. I would rather just put 6 eggs in the frypan and cook all at once. I’ll stick with my normal toaster!

  • This actually does seem like a brilliant idea but I don’t trust the quality of Kmart I’d like to see this done by one of the big brands with a 4 slice toaster.

  • I wouldn’t think about buying it unless my toaster suddenly breaks.

    • Also it only makes only 1 egg at the time, that’s a bit scarce for a family of 6

  • i just need another toaster at this time not sure about the egg part

  • OMG I was expecting that sausage roll maker – which …. I make my own so I’m not interested in that. Just as easy to roll your own.

Anyway this would be so amazing for work. I think…. I’ll be getting one. I work reasonably early hours and eggs is so full of protein and fills me up better than cereal does.

  • Mmmm, It’s a ‘no’ from me.

  • It is a similar situation at Aldi but they have a few in stock when the open the doors.

  • I love all the gadgets you can find these days and at Kmart of all placed is fantastic. I honestly do see the use for it as like many have already stated it just another bulky appliance our bench top doesn’t need but the thought is there. Each to their own ????

  • I don’t really need it so I’ll pass.

  • I saw this and said to my husband, that if there was one appliance to have this one would be it… if we ever ate boiled or poached eggs that is! Pretty convenient but again I’ve got a toaster and a pot that does the same thing!
