How many times have you thought to yourself ‘I look terrible today!’? How would you feel if you were brave enough to put up a video of yourself on YouTube and people told you that they thought you looked disgusting? One beauty blogger did just that and the comments she has received, you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.

This is one video that everyone needs to see, it’s strong, it’s powerful and it’s real. Beauty blogger Em Ford, recently posted this video to her YouTube channel shaming commenters who had taunted her. The comments are unbelievably hurtful and it has a profound impact on Em Ford as you can see in this clip.

Em has released this video to promote the message of ‘you are beautiful, no matter what’ and it’s one message I am certainly going to be sharing with my two little girls.

The part of this video that throws me the most is the fact that even when Em has a full face of make-up there are still haters out there, saying nasty hurtful comments. It seems that no matter what you do, there will always be an army of ‘keyboard warriors’ who can sit in the comfort of their own homes, hiding behind their computers, tablets and phones abusing people who are MUCH braver than them. At what point does this despicable behavior start to spill out into the ‘real’ world?

When did society become so nasty and hateful? How on earth am I going to equip my children to deal with nastiness like this? SHARE your thoughts with us in the comments below.

  • This makes me so sad! Where do people get off being so vicious about someone? They wouldn’t dare say it to her face, so why do they feel they have the right to say those awful things to her/about her online? Disgusting!

  • I saw this video about a week ago on another site and I was so dismayed and disgusted at how hurtful and vicious people can be!

  • I can’t believe people said such awful things. She has such a beautiful face and smile. But beauty is so much more.

  • This just proves how shallow some people can be.
Beauty comes from within and folk that see the beauty below the skin are the real beauties of nature.

  • What a wonderfully brave young woman. Her beauty is deep inside and she obviously wants other young women know that their worth should NOT be valued on “face value”. As I saw the headline for this story on FB I thought she was an extraordinarily beautiful woman. I saw she has a bad case of acne but having a medical condition is no reason to believe you are not beautiful. Once made up with her makeup I thought she was downright stunning. People who use FB to abuse others need to be reprimanded in some way or another but I have yet to think of suitable way of achieving this. I think there are just some really nasty people out there in society with nothing better to do but dish dirt on anybody they feel like. I wish I could give this woman a big hug and assure her she is beautiful – I hope she has her own mother to do that.

    People can be so horrible

  • This girl is beautiful & acne is only a skin infection that is treatable. The people that have said these hurtful comments must be the unattractive ones.

  • We need to define the meaning of ‘beautiful’.
Is it so important how your face look?
Don’t you think we should focus on beautiful mind and spirit?
