We introduce to you the tampon-shaped speaker that helps your unborn baby listen to music.

The ‘Baby-pod’ is inserted into the vagina and stimulates neural development in the fetus through music, shares Yahoo Lifestyle.

It’s inserted the same way you would a tampon, then you attach the audio cord to your ipod or phone.

The response to the product is quite mixed.

“You can also put headphones on your belly. Mums have been doing this for years!”

“But why? we already know they can hear through the belly. Just seems a pointless infection risk.”

“Stupid idea and another risk of infection. Babies can hear in utero through the abdomen. They do not need some device put into vagina.”

“Why? I thought babies could hear their mothers voice from inside the womb anyway. Are we trying to deafen babies before they are even born?!”

“Pretty sure they can hear music without the need to shove a speaker up your bits..”

Some even suggesting it was just cruel!

“I honestly think this is cruel like how do you know the baby wants to hear the music??”

  • This is just weird. Not sure I understand the point really.

  • Unreal. Just play near your belly if you’re so inclined. Some people will make anything to try and make some money.

  • I always thought they could hear in the womb anyway, a bit muffled, but without speakers. So why would you want to do this?!

  • I think I’ll stick to playing music the regular way.

  • Made by a man for sure. Everyone knows the baby can hear through the womb of the mother’s voice. You don’t need something stuck up your wazhoo!

  • Not a fan for sure. Unnecessary and another gimmick for mums-to-be to worry if they are doing their best by their bub. What next – recommended play lists, volume control, recommended timed exposure???

  • They can hear through the abdomen so why do we need to risk infection and i bet this item is a high price too. Just money grabbing company’s stupidity but sadly some mum’s would buy it.

  • They’ve got to be joking, Right? To me it’s just plain stupid and very unhealthy. Bet this was invented by men.

  • No, No AND No. Seriously? What are we doing to ourselves, our babies…. ? Just NO.

  • That seems at best silly and unnecessary, at worst potentially harmful to mum and baby.

  • Seriously – nothing should get put up there unless it’s absolutely necessary and that is NOT. Just a company trying to cash in on mums-to-be willing to try anything for their babies

  • I prefer natural to everything else. Babies have been being born forever over the last 10,000 years, and none of them needed music this way. What is this world coming to?

  • I don’t know that this is really necessary.

  • This is just a bit too weird !

  • Ahh people will waste their money on anything these days!

  • How silly is this. Is there even a market for this product ? Who are they trying to fool ?

  • Oh that’s interesting

  • Doesn’t sound safe at all! Not a fan of shoving things up anywhere for this reason!
