Amazon Australia has joined forces with one of the nation’s most-loved pastry chef to create a divisive, new Christmas dessert.

The Amazon Everything Christmas Pudding combines the traditional sweetness of a pudding with savoury flavours, including ham, turkey, gravy, pumpkin, cherry and rosemary.

The controversial creation was concocted by TV personality and chef Anna Polyviou and Karen Kelly, founder of country Victorian small business Pud For All Seasons.

The limited edition pudding will be available for sale on Amazon during the Black Friday event, but has already sold out its first run! It will be back in stock on November 19, so set your alarms!

  • I don’t know about this one ???????? the flavours are a but too much

  • Um….. hmm…

  • I don’t really know why you’d want to eat something will all the flavors mixed up.

  • That takes all of the enjoyment out of a big Christmas feast. Why would you want to have anything else when you just need to put a couple of puddings on the table and you get everything in the one dish. It’s definitely not something that would interest me. I prefer my meat and veg separate to my sweets.

  • Hmmm… so, does it actually have meat in it? If it has meat flavours, etc. how is it a dessert? Would it not be more of an entree? Does it still have the traditional pudding ingredients i.e. fruit? I hate the traditional Christmas pudding, because I hate fruit cake, but if this was something that didn’t have that fruit cake feel, I might be interested. But it is a little confusing.

  • No thank you just a big NO from me I dont even like regular Christmas Pudding

  • No I want to stuff myself with regular Christmas dinner first and then have pudding until I’m ready to burst – having it all in one go just doesn’t seem very appealing but if someone was serving it for Christmas lunch I would try to just to appease my curiosity

  • Not sure I’m a fan of savoury puddings

  • This doesn’t sound at all tempting to me. Give me a traditional one bought locally any day. I wish I could say home made but I still haven’t gotten around to making one. One day.

  • On first reading the list of ingredients; I am not quite sold on this pudding. The list of ingredients is indeed very interesting and different. I like the foods individually but not quite sure of them mixed together in a pudding. I prefer my traditional homemade Christmas pudding; but would give this one a try.

    • Yes I love to make a homemade Christmas pudding too. I like to make it gluten and diary free so it’s suits the different family members. I like to use almond meal, plenty of fresh and dried fruit and yummie nuts too. Home baking is a lovely festive activity too to do together:)

      • I agree; we love festive cooking and Christmas time is my favourite time of the year to make scrumptious food for family and friends. My Christmas pudding is much loved by all and it always gets eaten very quickly. Everyone gets to stir the pudding before it is steamed; such fun!

  • To be honest this sounds disgusting to me ! Maybe because I’m vegetarian and the taste of savoury flavours, including ham, turkey, gravy is putting me off. The article doesn’t say the exact ingredients and it isn’t indicated at the Amozon link either. However many of these puddings have suet, which is the hard, white fat that comes from the loins and kidneys of beef, lamb, or mutton. So not for me for sure

  • Um I’m not sure I’m really a fan of this. I like having my sweets separate from my mains. Sounds like a lot of people are keen to give it a go though which is great but at this stage it’s a definite pass from me. Although I can also see how this might work well for other people.

  • Wow this sounds really good, I have no idea Amazon was selling these. The fact that they have sold out sounds interesting. They must be really tasty and popular. I will have to keep my eyes open on black Friday when they become available again and see if i can get one.

  • Sounds very interesting. Can’t say I’m a big Amazon shopper though. And I can’t hear the word pudding anymore without thinking of Aunty Donna! It’s a new Christmas tradition to watch that skit. There’s always room for a little pud.

  • This sounds a bit odd, really. Why not just eat a variety of food?
