The parents handled it pretty well; it was a shock for her.

when my daughter was about that age her daddy shaved his beard off that he had always had but we knew that something like this might happen and i didnt want to put her through that so we took her into the bathroom and i held her as she watched, he did one side then played with her for a minute pulling face and what not then did the other side when he tried to talk to her and hold her she pulled away and wanted to go to the floor so i put her down and she picked up hair off the floor and started screaming at him to “put it back, put it back on” she was a little teary but more angry than anything and she didnt come good for a few days.

poor little sweet heart! its amazing how they can get ‘attached’ to one way you look and not another

not my kids although my dad had a beadd my whole life and when he shaved it off I though it was my uncle when I first saw him

The Ned Kelly style beards seem to be quite invogue with men at the moment. You see them everywhere, even a lot of the afl players are sporting them.

Aww poor little one, how confusing for her.

This happened to me when I was little and I cried thinking Dad was someone else!

Like my husband, her Daddy looks so much better with a beard.

Poor little thing she didn’t know what to think! My husband got this reaction from the dog who didn’t recognise him!

aww the poor little angel, that’s a pretty big shock to place on such a little soul. Think he should have gradually trimmed, getting shorter and shorter of a course of time.

This happened when I got my long hair chopped short. The kids didn’t know what to make of it!

My cousin’s little daughter hated it when he grew a goatie. She didn’t wanted to give him a kiss or cuddle. Another relative of theirs grew one too. My cousin wanter her daughter to have her hair cut a little shorter to get rid of split ends. The relative made deal with her that he shaved his goatie off (which he did), she had to have her hair cut. He looked younger without the goatie, and she look much prettier with her hair cut.

Lesson learnt…perhaps he should have started by trimming it closer and closer so she slowly got used to it.

Awww, the poor little thing. I’ve never seen a reaction like this, and luckily it’s never happened in our family. My son didn’t love his Dad’s whiskers at all.

How cute is that little girl.

This has not happened to our kids.
