I’m glad you did this for your child and your future together. My father worked at a hospital diagnosing cancerous tissues and saw many as a result of smoking. There is a good chance of the lung recovering/regenerating if you don’t leave it too long to quit smoking. Also remember the TV ads where the child loses their parent early and all the things they miss out on doing together because the parent is stuck in a hospital bed and suffering. The family also suffers. Do all you can to quit – it’s worth it!

It’s rad habit to break I did give up during myb1st pregnancy I’m not sure why I took it back up but I think I might have another stab at it after reading your story it might be hard now but will ve easier in the future..

congrats on quitting. i myself have never smoked, but my mum did for as long as i could remember. i nagged at her for so many years every week until she finally gave in and gave up! its been around 6 years for her now. i always said give up or you wont see your grandchildren grow up. i think that was what made her give up in the end. no more coughing up black muck for her. you should be proud of yourself! well done

Thank you for sharing and congratulations on your 10th anniversary on quitting! I’ve seen a few friends struggle tyring to quit – sometime sit takes a few tries and not give up on trying to quit – having the support as you did with husband helps a lot. I believe if you really really want to quit and stay quit you can do it (even if you have to try countless times), a hard habit to stop, congrats again. 😀
