A rockstar mum has showed off her incredible pregnant belly shape while carrying her triplets, and we’re in awe!

Michella Meier-Morsi, from Denmark, has been documenting her triplet pregnancy on social media, with her last pregnancy videos going viral. It shows the heavily pregnant mum wrangling her tubular shaped belly, with the video caption saying, “35+2 with triplets.” She shows a close up of her stretched skin, and points out where her babies are positioned.

Michella, who was already mum to two children before falling pregnant with triplets, writes in the caption: “The day before the day. Early tomorrow we will be a family of seven.”

‘My head cannot handle it’

She explains that her daughters are ‘about to explode with enthusiasm and already have a billion plans for their little brothers.⁣’

She details how her previous births have tainted her excitement for the triplet birth, and she’s grappling with all the emotions. The nervous mum admits she’s ‘insanely scared and insanely tearful. I started crying wildly when they called from the hospital earlier today to give us practical information on where to go, what to eat before, etc.⁣⁣

“It feels so unreal to have to have three babies and it’s like my head can not handle it. I simply can not imagine it or them.⁣ Instead, it rolls around with ugly thoughts.⁣ Can I do it? Can they do it?

“What if I get it just as bad as last time and can not be there for the kids? ⁣ What if milk production does not start? ⁣
And what if a million other things over which I have no control ⁣ It’s a huge downside that I’ve had a caesarean section in the past, which was a bad experience. And a postpartum period filled with pain and very long rehabilitation.⁣ My brain can not focus on anything other than that right now. Only the fear… oh how I just want to turn it off! ⁣

“I kind of wish I could stroll into the operating room with a smile, be able to get my boys up on my chest one by one, joke a bit with Mark about the hole in my stomach and enjoy the moment.⁣ Instead, I have been prepared for the fact that my blood pressure will probably plummet when I get the anaesthetic applied because my stomach is so big. That they will give me antiemetics in advance. That I will probably lose a lot of blood because the uterus is so big and that it is not certain that I will react better this time because they are not sure why I got it so bad last.

“But luckily I know that the only thing that matters to me tomorrow is whether the boys are doing well.⁣ And on that front, I can throw my arms up – because we did! ⁣ We have been holding on to them for over 35 weeks. And then we can not really do more than hope for the best.”

Mark and Michella’s beautiful triplet boys arrived the next day, January 16, 2022, with the mum of five saying the birth went better than she had feared. But her postpartum recovery is a struggle. “My postpartum pain and injuries are markedly worse than last! ⁣ I’m in grotesque pain. And right now I can not see myself out of that nightmare. Fortunately, it helps when lying with three adorable boys on your chest – yep, I’ve already had the pleasure of having them all up at once. And it was completely magical!”

‘It even hurts to breathe’

She’s also since shared a photo of her belly 10 days after the birth, saying “My stomach is empty but my heart and my arms have never been so full of love and happiness.”

But the amazing mum’s recovery has been hampered by medical issues after the birth, with Michella heading to the operating theatre.

“It has already become significantly smaller – but it is heavy and incredibly painful. The caesarean section is not bothersome – unless I have to cough, sneeze or (God forbid) vomit . But my intestines roll around in the big cavity, which is both uncomfortable and hurts.⁣

“My uterus lies right next to the skin and is super sensitive – the slightest touches hurt.⁣ And the last few days, the stomach has felt like a big black mark. It even hurts to breathe.⁣ With the girls, I had some of the same problems – not nearly as violent, but still really painful. And there it was not taken seriously, which resulted in a readmission because I had got inflammation in the uterus. There was still tissue in there.

“This time, luckily, the coolest team of women at Neonatal and Gynaecology is fighting for me and taking it seriously. And therefore they have already discovered that there is too much old blood in my very large uterus. And my body cannot get rid of it. In other words, there is a great risk that there will be inflammation in it if it is not removed ⁣

“I have not bled for a long time, and the aftermath has stopped for a long time, which may be due to the uterus being at the bottom of the hanging abdomen.⁣ Then it must… in full anaesthesia at a scraping and today.⁣ I’m on the emergency list, so I’m just lying in my bed waiting. I was seconds from being picked up an hour ago, but then came an acute caesarean section – and it is after all a tad more important than my grotesque hunger.⁣

“I have now pumped and breastfed several times on an empty stomach and I am about to vomit from hunger. The scraping should luckily be a short round – but I can not help but fear that I will get sick from the anaesthesia and lie sick afterwards. That fear is filling my head right now. But here it is – my huge pregnancy belly 10 days after the birth.⁣ It will be exciting and nerve-wracking to see how my body plans to heal.”

The baby boys, Charles Henri, Gabriel Carl and Theodore Eigil are all doing well, and will hopefully be home in the near future.

  • She is an amazing women, by the look of her pregnant belly it must be very uncomfortable for her to carry three babies, specially the toilet runs and sleeping time. Hats off to her for smiling like a legend during her pregnancy and even after the delivery.

  • This brings to my attention that I never before considered the after affects if multiple birth recovery. Not really. The issues Michella describes are, to me, scary and awful. I’m almost 3 years post partum and I think my body is still in recovery. From a singleton.

Bless this woman and her strength! And her beautiful family too!

  • As impressive as it is to carry 3 babies, imagine how sore you’d feel during or even afterwards. Next on the list… stomach tuck…
