  • I don’t understand what goes through people’s minds to think that this is ok

  • My MCHN got cranky when I left my week old baby in the loungeroom asleep while I did dishes in the next room. What on earth was this woman thinking? Leaving a baby alone is not ok.

  • Let’s just hope this was the best outcome.

  • And now the mum lost her child who was placed into foster care;
    the child will grow up with issues of rejection and abandonment
    and the mum with issues of guilt and loss and shame.

  • Gosh how sad for this child. Probably would’ve been so scared

  • That’s very sad. It doesn’t bode well for the future.

  • I can’t imagine why anyone would leave a 3 month old alone??

  • The child is listed as at risk? Shouldn’t better accommodation be made for the baby? If she’s done it before she could do it again! And how is this alleged? They found the baby home alone, they waited for the mother to return. The only way the mother could have allegedly left the baby at home alone would be if she had in fact left the baby with a sitter who abandoned the baby at home!

  • And what if something had happened to the child while she was away? She would have never forgiven herself. I’m glad somebody alerted the authorities.

  • ( wonder why the Sheriff’s officers went there. I thought they only went to houses of people who owed somebody a lot of money or hadn’t paid their rent or mortgage, hadn’t moved out as instructed and they were going to evict the family.

  • Hmm seems to me that perhaps there’s more to this. Glad the baby is ok. Hope the mum is too. I personally couldn’t leave my child. Hope the mum and baby get the help they need.

  • I could never do that. I wonder what she was doing?

  • Maybe the mother was having some mental issues. But neither way she shouldn’t have left the baby on her own even if she wasn’t in the right headspace. Glad to hear the baby’s ok though thank god nothing happened.

  • Poor baby! I struggled to leave my newborn in another room while I had a shower quickly and would often have him in a bassinet in the bathroom with me! Some people don’t deserve kids. ????

  • How could a person do this? I hate leaving my dogs home alone, there’s no way I could do it to a baby

  • Mum suffering from PND or anxiety? I know it’s not excuse, geez I’ve had my moments, but I never acted on anything. I sought help. Clearly she wasn’t thinking clearly or didn’t have any support. Hopefully now the baby is taken care of by someone properly & the Mum gets the help she needs too.
