It appears Woolworths could be preparing to launch a brand new Disney-themed collectable to rival Coles Little Shop campaign.

While nothing has been confirmed, an excited mother took to Facebook recently to share a snap of a cardboard cutout out the front of her local Woolworths store.

If the rumours are true, the supermarket giant is set to release a range of Disney-themed collectable Scrabble tiles.

‘Members let the fun begin,’ the mother wrote in a Facebook group dedicated to the collectable trends.

‘There is a new collection coming to Woolworths starting Wednesday February 27. We will update you once more information comes in. Happy collecting!’

The photo she shared appeared to be the outline of famous Disney character Mickey Mouse and words written on it confirmed ‘the magic’ would arrive at the end of the month.

If you recall back in 2016 Woolworths launched the Disney movie collectables. This could be a follow up to that campaign?

Or Could it be another dominoes collection like in 2015?

This could be so much bigger and better than the latest Coles Stikeez craze!?

  • I totally missed this. Not concerned 🙂

  • My daughter collected them but was happier with the Coles promotion.

  • Found it very disappointing to be honest!

  • The tiles are okay, I didn’t think they were particularly special, my youngest one though seems to be collecting these at the moment.

  • THE Tiles have been good they would be better if they turned them into more of a scrabble set though

  • I’m no type a fanatic about any of these collectables. But I’m happy to accept any and pass onto others who are fanatics. Some pieces allegedly sell for ridiculous amounts of money on eBay. I’ll never understand how a freebie can sell for $20 000 ????

  • I do like how the Woolworths collectables have begun to be a little less throw away.

  • Personally thing all the collectable stuff is useless.
Do something useful for the kids like big w are… and give kids free books.gii don’t even have to soend anything at big w to get one either.

  • Shopping collectables have become a real craze. I don’t mind getting them when I shop but am not going out of my way to ensure I get a whole set.

  • More landfill junk. $5 off the shop would be a preferable thing to do.

  • I would just rather the $5 off every shop than $5 of rubbish.

  • Let the supermarket war continue…

  • I hope it’s better then there cardboard pop out Christmas collection. That was pretty sad

  • Too many promotions now, putting pressure on parents to spend more, it has to stop.

  • I’m over all the collectables now.

  • So I imagine people will be outraged by this too. I do feel they’re coming to quick and thick and fast. Maybe longer delays between collectibles to make them more meaningful.

    • The collectibles have not changed our shopping habits – if we get them we are happy and if not that is just fine too! 🙂

  • I haven’t collected any Stikeez yet, but Disney is so cute I may be swayed to shop at Woolies!

  • We’ll wait and see.
One thing for sure, most pre- & primary school kids love to collect.
My son loved the domino’s back then, still has the set with ramp and now at age 13 still plays with it every now and then.

  • It will be interesting to watch this collectibles space and see what develops.

  • I’m. Excited for these but if they are dominoes then not so much
