Hello!

In a year when the cost of the weekly shopping has hit crippling levels for many families, Aussie shoppers have voted supermarket own-brands as some of their favourite products.

Five thousand Australian shoppers voted for their favourite supermarket products in the annual Product of the Year awards.

New research has found, unsurprisingly, that nine out of 10 shoppers put affordability above all else when choosing products at the supermarket.

More than 30 products from a range of categories have been recognised as part of the awards, hailing from Coles, Woolworths, Kmart and Nestle.

We have a hamper bursting with 2025 Product of the Year winners, valued up to $100, up for grabs! To enter, just click on the Facebook post below!

  • That looks like a good little hamper right there. As things in general get more expensive it’s nice to know that shopping brand name is no longer the trend. Home brand items are just as good and sometimes (dare I say) even better. I’ll be adding a few extra items to my shopping list this week after looking at that hamper.

  • Looks like Coles is very well represented there and I’m not surprised – I love so many products in their Coles Finest range, the idea of those hazelnut cookies is amazing, I’ll have to look out for them next time I shop. Supermarket brands are often just as good, if not better than name brands.

  • You had me at Starbucks after chugging my nitro cold brew down. Love all of these soo many tried and tested products we love in the pantry. Thanks for the reminder. Going to go jump on the Koala mattress.

  • Thank you for providing this list of winning products. There are some products on the list which will be good to try and locate and happily try out. The Ferrero Rocher dessert does indeed stand out and I will be looking for this one today. It will be the first product to be taste tested.

  • This looks like a great list of products most of which I’ve never tried or even heard of before if I’m being honest but I’m definitely keen to try out quite a few of them. The woolworths slow cooked traditional beef roast followed by the Ferrero Rocher Frozen dessert sounds like a great meal.

    • I really did try and find this delicious sounding Ferrero Rocher dessert but unfortunately had no luck with the search yesterday. I will keep looking and will hopefully find it. I really am super keen to taste this dessert. I suspect it will go so well with Italian themed food nights.

  • I really hate competitions that ask you to tag someone else on social media. Feels too close to multi level marketing for me to ever want to do that.

  • So glad to see my favourite garlic bread on the list. Everyone should try it, Coles branded and it’s so good!

  • It might just be a bag of items to some people, but it could mean the difference between someone having food or not. What a brilliant prize!

  • Definitely no surprise that cost was a huge factor in shopping decisions. It’s been pretty tricky for a lot of households. I’ll have to keep an eye out for these store brand products, I can’t say I’ve tried most of what is listed and I’d be curious to see how good they are.

  • Um… so, you just watch the video and you’re entered? I can’t see any other information. Anyway, great range of products.

      • Sorry, I see what you mean now. I commented before clicking. (Eye roll lol)

  • What a lovely prize indeed ! It doesn’t surprise me that that nine out of ten shoppers put affordability above all else when choosing products at the supermarket. I myself too find supermarket own-brands are some of my favourite products. I’m sure we would all love to win this prize, I hope the winner will be truly blessed with this.
