ALDI shoppers are a discerning bunch, who know what they like and what they don’t! After casting more than 300,000 votes, they’ve chosen just eight products as their top picks. And some of these may just surprise you.

The annual People’s Picks awards invite ALDI shoppers to vote for their favourite products, across eight categories.

And there are a couple of fan favourites that made the cut, as well as some surprises.

“We’re so excited to bring back The People’s Picks for its sixth year!”ALDI Australia’s Shopping Expert, Kylie Warnke, said.

“We love to see classic items like the Urban Eats Greek Spinach & Cheese Spanakopita and The Best Margarita Pizza Ever return as finalists year after year, as well as cheer on new products that are making their debut on the list, such as the Kapiti Passion Fruit and Kamahi Honey Ice cream and the Café Series Salt & Pepper Tempura Barramundi.”

  • I buy my washing powder from Aldi and usually my toilet paper. While I’m there I’ll wander through the aisles seeing what’s new. I like to get there noodle meal bowls (they are so cheap there) and leave a couple at work because they’re easy to do, usually just need a kettle It’s my backup plan for when I forget to bring lunch.

  • I always get the spanakopita and di san from Aldi.
The potato gratin will be my next purchase looks delish.

  • I think I may have to try shopping at Aldi again after seeing the favs here. The spinach and ricotta pastry looks great and I forgot how good their cleaning stuff is. I think I stopped going to Aldi because I still had to go to Cole’s after to get things I couldn’t get at Aldi

  • Love the Greek Spinach & Cheese Spanakopita tastes homemade and every guest we have had over has loved it too! Even the kids & teenagers

Always have one of these in the freezer and buy each grocery shop!

Great side dish or even to eat on its own as well.

  • There are some products on this list that I haven’t tried yet. Must give them a go next time I’m shopping at Aldi.

  • Im not a big Aldi shopper, but I do love a few of their products which are on this list. Most of the Urban Eats are fantastic so when I go I stock up on the items. Their stain remover is great and not just for clothing. I also use it to clean my sink and stove.

  • Even without this product list, ALDI is the best supermarket to shop at simply because of their priced. They’re always cheaper then Coles and Woolies. I’m still waiting for a local ALDI where I live so I can shop there. I really dislike Coles and Woolies monopoly on groceries, they’re such rip offs

  • I don’t usually shop at Aldi as I like to do my groceries online but looking at some of these I think I might have to make the trip. I’m especially interested in grabbing the Di San laundry products because if they really work they are so much cheaper than Nappisan.

    • I was thinking the same. I find online shopping so much easier and convenient but some of these items
Listed in this article look really tasty by what others have said. I know so many mums who shop at Aldi I just haven’t made the move myself yet. Maybe it is time too!

  • Aldi does have some great products, and I have a weakness for their special buys.

  • Off to ALDI I go! I always buy my coffee and washing detergent from ALDI! Great products!

  • They look like amazing products! I wish that Tassie would get an Aldi – even if there was just one in Hobart, it would be a start and I would probably still make the effort to get there a couple times a year. I particularly love the look of the lamb steaks above- yum! I’d be keen to try the laundry stuff too.

  • Love most Aldi products but I do agree and love the Di San. Best stain remover out there.

  • ALDI don’t need new products to get me in, their cheaper prices are what attract me. Wish we had an ALDI close by

  • I’m not an Aldi client.
Aldi (stylised as ALDI) is the common company brand name of two German multinational family-owned discount supermarket chains operating over 12,000 stores in 18 countries.
I rather support Australian and local businesses.
Purchasing Australian made products supports the economy at every level – from creating jobs and allowing Australians to return to their previous jobs to supporting farmers, suppliers and local businesses, increasing tax revenue, reducing the cost of welfare and so much more.

    • Besides this they lack choice in health foods, gluten free-, diary free- and vegetarian foods.
I have to admit that the Urban Eats Greek Spinach & Cheese Spanakopita looks quite good, but again it’s not gluten free and not diary free and that would mean that several members of our family will not be able to eat what you put on the table.

      • I am in full agreement with you on this Ellen. Most people also want their super to be there for them in retirement and two big stocks in their super are Coles and Woolworths. Aldi doesn’t list on the stock exchange as their profits go back overseas to their parent company and make the German owners richer.

      • I’m glad you agree mom101628. I’m quite stunned as to how many people don’t mind to support the German giant instead of the Australian economy. And that whilsts I’m not even from Australia myself (I’m from Europe – the Netherlands), but living here I feel that this is the right thing to do.

  • The truffle and olive oil crisps sound amazing but I haven’t been able to find it in store!

    • I am going to search for them over the weekend.

  • I haven’t tried any of these products, but I do agree that Aldi has some great products.

  • I have not tried any of these but might have to make a trip to Aldi and check them out. The cheese and crackers and chips look really inviting and perfect for an upcoming event I have on. It is always good to get recommendations like this. Thanks for sharing these items.

  • I can absolutely agree that the di-san prewash treatment spray works so well. I found a beautiful white linen dress at a clothing exchange market that had those horrible yellow wardrobe stains and that spray worked wonders. It’s a fraction of the big brand price.
The force pro creme cleanser does amazing work on your oven door.
I haven’t tried the potato gratin but have eyed it off many times, looks like I’ll be picking up a box.
