Easter treasure map

We usually hide our eggs in the garden and the kids must find them one at a time! Strings the day out and they get some excercise too!

Material

1 A4 paper
1 Calligraphy pen
1 Wooden chest (or box!)
1 Stash of Easter eggs

Method

Using you best free hand draw a mud map of the house and yard on your paper, mark out a route to be followed eg ten steps past the dog house turn left
Hide the stash of Easter eggs in the chest (or box) and mark the location with an 'X'
Depending on the age of the kids you can make it as tricky or as easy as you like

Notes

You can use bunny footprints to add to the thrill...or use chocolate coated peanuts to look like rabbit poo..like my dad did one year!

That’s a nice idea, different than the usual hunt. My kids love doing a treasure map. We usually do clues to find the eggs individually. My kids love trying to solve them and finding the next clue as much as they love finding the eggs

Your own kids will enjoy this especially as the usual activities will be curtailed this year. They will certainly need something to make Easter Sunday enjoyable.

Agree this is a fantastic idea that can keep kids entertained for ages. Can be used with Easter eggs for Easter obviously, but at any other time with another treat.

I always made the Easter egg hunt a bit difficult to spread things out. Often. I hid some eggs in the kids school stuff, knowing it wouldn’t be found til school went back
