Baby Miraculously Survives An "Accidental Caesarian"

In a miracle with a tragic twist, a baby has amazingly survived a violent car crash, which caused her to be ripped from her mother’s womb.

The accident occurred in Southeast Brazil when the driver of the truck, that the 39-week pregnant woman was travelling in, lost control of the vehicle. The truck then flipped and catapulted the expecting mother from the vehicle, as reported in the Courier Mail.

The truck had been carrying wooden planks, which came loose and crushed the woman.

Accidental Caesarian

The woman was thrown from the vehicle at such force, that her unborn baby was torn from her womb and landed on grass on the side of the highway.

Attending paramedics declared the woman dead at the accident scene, but then heard the newborn crying nearby.

The baby was miraculously unharmed, except for the umbilical cord that had been damaged in the crash.

The child was treated at Pariquera-Acu regional hospital’s neonatal intensive care ward after surviving the “accidental Caesarian”, Metro reported.

Mum Is Still Unknown

The mum still has not been identified and authorities are attempting to find any of the baby’s relatives.

First responder Elton Fernando Barbosa told Brazil’s A Tribuna newspaper that he could barely believe it when he found the child.

“The foetus was literally expelled by the impact on the mother, the impact was so great that this opened up the mother’s belly and the child was ejected,” he said.

“She was perfect, healthy, without a scratch. We can say that, in those circumstances, it was really a miracle that she survived.

“By what I saw, I have no idea how she came out alive. I don’t know how this child got out with her life.”

Consequences For The Driver

The driver of the truck, Jonathan Ferreira was soon released from hospital with no serious injuries.

He told authorities he did not know the pregnant woman and had simply given her a lift.

Mr Ferreira has subsequently been charged with manslaughter.

Police told local media if the baby’s relatives were not found, she would be taken to an orphanage.

Definitely a miracle the baby survived. Had the baby not cried it is a distinct possibility he / she would have died, especially if they cord was completely severed.

Oh my! I didn’t even imagine such a thing could happen. Poor woman dying like that! 🙁 I hope they will find some relative so someone will take care of that little girl that surely wanted to live. Such a sad story. 🙁

That dear little baby girl was meant to survive. A real miracle her life was spared but tragedy that she will never know her mother.

This is so tragic! Yes, a miracle the baby survived, but now without its mum – I so hope they can find some living relatives so it doesn’t end up in an orphanage ….

Sounds like a miracle birth indeed, but sad this child has to start her life without her mum. Hope & pray they will be able to identify the mum and find relatives for the baby.

Do hope the authorities find the family of the child – it would be sad to see the baby taken to an orphanage and it’s really family not knowing about her.

So sad to think of the way this little girl has entered the world and even sadder to think she has no family as yet. I hope they find some relatives to love and raise her as every baby deserves.
