Hello!

When the Kmart product developers created its popular storage trolley, we bet they didn’t imagine it could be used as a multi-level dolls bed.

While most of us would store towels, linen or bathroom essentials in the storage tower, creative mum, Emma, came up with the genius idea to convert it into a tri-level doll’s bed.

The doll trolley mimics the portable beds that newborns are wheeled about in, in hospitals. But this super-duper version has three levels to house multiple dolls.

Emma posted photos of her adorable hack to the Kmart Mums Australia site saying:

“Best $19 I’ve spent. She pushes it around the house all day and changes the babies around. She’s the midwife & looking after the babies. Even a set of twins. ”

The post drew heaps of attention from group members, with many tagging their friends to share this hack and praising Emma for her brilliant idea.

One member suggested hanging a clip on basket and add bottles, dummies and nappies.

Another shared other uses for the trolley: “My girls use it for their babies like this but also as supermarket shelves. Food service/ cafe play with their kitchen and with books and pencils etc when playing schools. Love seeing them use their imagination with it.”

Inspiration Behind The Hack

Emma shared with us how she came up with this hack:

“I was using the black trolley as storage for the kids’ art & craft supplies. Then I saw a bigger and sturdier one on the Kmart mums page so went to Kmart and bought that. Once I swapped the art & craft over I had the black one empty. I got the idea to put a doll in the top and showed my 3yr old daughter. Her eyes lit up and she wheeled it into her toy room and filled the other shelves and hasn’t stopped playing with it.”

The 3-tier trolley is advertised on the Kmart website as featuring 3 storage baskets and wheels for easy mobility. It has a powder coated steel frame with a 2kg capacity per basket. Kmart recommends that the trolley is perfect to organise cosmetics, bath linen and other essentials.
