If you’re as excited about Christmas food as we are, you’re going to love what Coles is dishing up this year – everything from a $4 bottle of wine to Negroni-flavoured sorbet. And we were lucky enough to be invited along for a sneak peek!

Coles and Liquorland have unwrapped their Christmas range for 2023, with more than 142 new products and 150 new drinks. It comes not long after the supermarket giant launched its collectible collection with chef Curtis Stone.

The new holiday season range includes products for every kind of Christmas meal – from fancy five course extravaganzas to festive budget-beating backyard bashes.

Mouths of Mums recently had a spot at the table when Coles launched the new range, and we were bowled over by the products – particularly the budget-friendly offerings we know our members love.

We chatted to Coles Chief Executive Officer Leah Weckert, who told Mouths of Mums that stretching budgets further is at the forefront of the new range.

“We know it’s been a difficult year for many Aussies who are continuing to feel the pinch of cost-of-living pressures, which is why we’ve made sure this year’s range of more than 142 new supermarket and 150 new liquor products, caters to a number of different price points to help our customers celebrate Christmas, no matter their budget or festive plans,” Leah explained.

“We’re really committed to ensuring Coles is the destination for delicious food and drink this Christmas by delivering a range that meets our customers’ needs, and offers great value, quality and variety.”

The new range includes:

Coles Single Smoked Beechwood Ham: An Australian sow-stall free pork made in Western Australia, which has been smoked for additional flavour. It won bronze at the Sydney Fine Food Show in 2022.

Coles Finest Hunter Valley Free Range Turkey Crown: This free-range turkey breast has a fruity stuffing, marinated with a blend of sea salt and seasoning, with a spiced fruit stuffing topped with a bacon lattice.

Coles Finest Blackforest Christmas Tree Cake: A show-stopping dessert option for Christmas. The decadent cake is vanilla mousse with Amarena cherries and layers of chocolate sponge, set on a hazelnut praline feuilletine, and hand-finished with icing sugar and a chocolate crumb.

Coles Christmas Negroni-Flavoured Sorbet: An orange-based sorbet that is perfectly flavoured with notes of Vermouth, Gin and Campari.

Hidden Gem Semillon Sauvignon Blanc: A refreshing, full-flavoured blend with tropical notes of zesty lemon and gooseberry, and a clean, crisp finish that pairs perfectly with canapés and recently won a Gold medal at the Riverina wine show. And it’s only $4!

“We have a number of incredibly delicious Christmas products this year — there are almost too many to choose from,” Leah said. “Some of my favourites from the range are the Reuben Mac n Cheese Bites, the Coles Finest Prosciutto-Wrapped Chicken Breast and the Belgian Chocolate and Orange Pudding. All are very easy to prepare, and I think will be a hit with family and friends during the festive season.”

  • So much to choose from I am not a lover of Christmas cake pudding and fruit mince pies but I must say I do love the Ham

  • Nothing yet. I’ve been a little single minded when I get to the shops. Getting in and getting out. I detest shopping at my local Coles. The aisles are too narrow and shoppers bring their whole families with them. It’s hard to navigate. Unfortunately due to our house move it’s only one minute up the road and makes no sense to go elsewhere. My supermarket shop has gone from an hour to get the heck out of there so I don’t really browse anymore.

  • Great for those on a low budget but I can’t shop at Coles. I’m not willing to drive 3 hours there and back to my closest store. It does all look and sound great though.

  • The Christmas range is exciting to see. We don’t buy a lot of the specialty items, but we do splurge on some really good mince pies. Hopefully this year they’ll have some nice ones.
