If you’re a Christmas movie buff, you’ve probably already started working your way through your holiday movie list – but wait, you could be getting PAID to do it!

In what’s being dubbed the holiday movie dream job, a company is looking for a Chief of Cheer to watch 25 holiday movies in 25 days, and is willing to pay $2500 to the lucky TV junkie.

Each year CableTV.com appoints a Chief of Cheer, who is tasked with watching the movies and rate them. And they’ll hand over $25000 as well as access to subscriptions to seven streaming services for a year, including Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime and Apple TV+.

“If you get inducted as our next Chief of Cheer, we’ll be counting on you to watch 25 holiday movies within 25 days,” The company explained. “It’s a difficult responsibility to accept an appointment from CableTV — you’ll have to keep track of each movie you watch and rank it in three categories: nostalgia, heartwarming storytelling and holiday cheer.”

CableTV will also ask you to rank each of the seven streaming services for things like ease of use and movie selection.

They’ve even put together a suggested list of movies to watch, including:

  • A Charlie Brown Christmas
  • Die Hard
  • Elf
  • Frosty the Snowman
  • Frozen
  • Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!
  • Home Alone
  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Now, here’s what everyone wants to know – who can apply? Sorry Aussies, we’re about to burst your bubble. To apply, you have to be a resident of the United States and at least 18 years old. So, for our US friends, you can head to CableTV to enter, while the rest of us just watch holiday movies for the pure joy.

What’s your favourite Christmas movie? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Geez I wish this was my actual job

  • I love Christmas movies, what a great opportunity for Americans.

  • That’s so unfair. We Aussies love to watch movies especially the Christmas ones. I don’t really have a favourite that I can choose, I love them all

  • I could do that but just not at this time of the year! way too busy.

  • I watch a lot of TV and I’d love to be a reviewer, all-year-round! I’m going to watch Love Actually this year. Everyone raves about it. I don’t really have a favourite.

  • I felt this article was like a click bait. I was excited thinking there is a chance to win a job like that (as it would be perfect right now) but nope… False hope. Honestly, don’t know how this is “news worthy” on here when it has nothing to do with Australia.

  • So excited til I finished reading the article. Them so disappointed to read it’s for US residents only. Darn it

  • Its a shame it’s for US residents only, I’m currently on Workers compensation and i have plenty of time on my hands. But Polar Express comes in at #1 in our household, then follwed by Home Alone, National Lampoons.

  • It won’t be me. Who had that much time on their hands?

  • Man, the US get all y he opportunities! This would be the perfect job for me. My tree has already been up for a week!

  • My favourite movie is The Polar Express there’s something magical about that movie and an Aussie legend On Our Selection.

  • Boo-urns, what a great comp to enter, but I guess I’ll take Medicare over a movie job opportunity, hey!
I love a cheesy Christmas movie. The Holiday is one of my faves. What a great cast! And About a Boy is excellent too. I’m also guilty of watching the terribly cliched one’s that come out on Netflix each year.
